mate where did u get them from?
i dun want to put u off but i reckon it is best if u left it to someone who knows exactly what they are doing because the process aint easy. it is worth the extra $$ to get it installed professionally
my 2.2c ...
but the handling is a world of difference compared to stock... u will love it! :D

Dude - you shouldn't be cutting ANYTHING!! If you have to cut you are doing something wrong.
Basically it is just a case of take out the current spring / shock setup - clamp the spring - take the shocker out - bolt in the new shocker and unclamp springs, then bolt back into the car - not hard at all.
But DEFINITELY recommend that if you think you have to cut something - get some one else to do it.
If you are perth - gimme a hoy - I can sort you out. At the right price ;)

Manual these are koni Strut Inserts
YOu have to cut and drill the old shock out and bolt the new one into the strut
they give you all the Messurements on the Diagram, the hole size's, blade size how far down to cut

Yeah that's how you put Koni's in. I had to do it on my old Pulsar. You compress the spring, and take it off. Then you cut about 5mm below the top of the outer tube and tip all the old oil into a bucket when you pull the centre out (it gets messy). Then you drill the required hole in the bottom of the strut. Use a good vice to hold it still. slip the insert in, bolt through the bottom and tighten. They are made to be a snug fit, and usually have a rubber cover to go over the top where it 'joins' to make it look tidy. It's not hard if you have a good metal hacksaw and metal drill.
The inserts are usually only for the fronts, I think they do full strut replacements for the rears.

yes the kit offered by whiteline's exactly that ... inserts for the fronts and full replacement for the rears ... wat's annoying is that the rear shock needs to be removed in order to adjust the rebound rate...

That sounds REALLY dodgy. Are you 100% sure about all that? I mean i thought it would have been a full replacement. Is a full replacement available cause i sure as hell would be getting that if it was me (actually if it was me id get coilovers :D )

Ahhh Thank you BirdManVRX good know someone knows whats going on
So you put them on your Pulsar?, much better over standard? I have Ajustable rebond, do you know of any problems wit that? Any tips on setting up the Stiffness, i have sway bars, and am organising a strut brace, i serpose its all trial and error
Im amazed more ppl don't know about this style of shock in strut replacement
No one knows of a good site with better directions on the install????

Ok - cool I stand corrected - I have always just replaced it with a bolt out bolt in replacement - not cutting / drilling required.
But all the best with your install!! I am lucky now with a jap car - I just by coilovers ;) much easier - though I can garauntee the suspension in the magna is easier to get in and out then the supra by ALOT!! The supra front end setup is a PITA to get in and out!!

i have a set of koni's but had them fitted and yes you have to cut the old one's
you will love them there just awsome a have the strut brace and a bigger sway bar too
one thing i have noticed is the rear one need to be a lot harder seting than the front you should set them on hard as setting before you put them on once you drive with them on that setting you will never want them on any other setting

I've had my inserts fitted for around 2 years and 50KKMs of hard driving now, no issues at all. You just have to install them right. The shop I had them fitted at, used a bench-mount metal pipe cutter to get a clean and perpendicular cut; hacksaws are too messy.
