i've been reading some old posts regarding tyre size, load rating etc...

i realised that the current falkens i have are illegal (fitted by tempetyres 235/45/R17 on a 7" rim... with a load rating of 93 :rant: ) but since it's been nearly 2 yrs i dun think i can go back and harass them ... i guess i should've looked up info before buying my rims

so i am now in search of new tyres... 1st preference is Falkens Azenis ST115s 225/45/R17...

according to this thread (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11862&highlight=225%2F45), the rolling diameter should be slightly smaller...

1. just want confirmation that that the tyre profile of 45 is ok?
2. don't VRX's come with 225/50?
3. anyone suggest alternative tyres <$200?

Having a 45 profile would change gearing and show a faster speed on speedo than actual.

correct size to be legal on 7" rims is 225/50/17 load rating 94 (TH Magna) VRX do have this size

I recently purchased Dunlop LM 702 in the above size $224.00 at Bob Jane. Very quiet and comfortable for a low profile. Handling/roadholding good - don't know about wet though - hasn't rained yet.

Unfortunately this tyre size is relatively rare so you don't have many choices unlike the much more common 235/45/17
