Greetings All.
No...but i think some amps can take a high input (from the actual speaker cables from the head unit rather then RCA)...
Hence why im asking...
He only wants to and a 8" or 10"....someting to give off a 'lill more doof

I'd be going for a 10" bazooka tube with built in amp that could take a high level input.

Hmm so does your father prefer to locate the subwoofer in the same stock position as in the Roadster? I am guessing your father has a Coupe.
Interesting though, a mate of mine's father changed from a Coupe to a Roadster Quattro. Hasn't said anything about the difference in sound.

Nice car the TT...
Try and find out what the outputs are on the TT headunit. If it has rca out then it will be easy to do. Just buy an amp and a sub.
There should be provision for a sub seeing the other models have it so one would think that the headunit will have these options.
He can go the OEM route which will cost a pretty penny. Give Audi a ring and see what they have to say about buying the Roadster amp and sub. Esp the amp. And find out what you can about connections.
Once you know what you've got to work with it should be easy.
A few amps have high level inputs, but this may involve losing the rear speakers which will be a waste of a good stock system.
As for controlling the subs volume, many amps have remote gain control and it would be easy to wire this through inconspicuously, otherwise you can just set the sub volume and leave it.
The headunit may also have options for this.

Splice the rear channel High Outputs on the rear channels of the deck
Clarion make Nice Slim Active Subwoofer system often used for Datsun 1200 utes...
It may be a Job for FHRX studios to do as trying to run a Power cable and Earth and still keep it looking stock is a job for a real Pro..
