ok i thought while i was putting my clear lights back on id take a photo with the altezza and the normal tail light to see wot you all think of them for my colour car.

no matter what im gonna keep the altezzas on coz i like em but just thought id see wot you all thought

i had my frosted on for about 1 year and changed them back to stock ones....When the stock ones went one it felt really different, but good... sooi left them on.... :D

i agree, the altezza look on the maroon magnas look real nice, but the others i reckon either stock or tinted... i'll be tinting mine soon or spend some money for some custom clear tail lights with black surrounds (if uno wat i mean)

Are you talking about the TL VRX ones or did they do a TJ tinted light..?? I wanted to do that as they are tinted but the will look wrong with the TJ boot..

I'm not a big fan of those lights, but I think they look good on the maroon.

altezzas arent frosted.. although they appear much more white/chrome and red . there the ones you see on most landers, and many new cars.. like.. mazda 6's (i think). . . they're often got red bubbly shapes over a more whiter/chrome background

Have a look at this post/thread... Altezzas typically have a clear outer cover and coloured reflectives inside whereas the frosted ones are ....well.... frosted lol... you cant see inside... like ahhh... hey just click here lol ;)

A lot of people use that Nightshade product I think you can get from Autobarn or other big Auto Accessory chains... but I will let the guy answer for himself lol

frosties are ok if people use the right frigging globe im sick of seeing pink/white lights for the break lights theres only a few in SA that have a proper bright red glow from the break lights

im all for the stock ones look heaps better, the only thing id do to my verada ones is tint them slightly more then they are so they look a bit more gansterish, but i think stock just blends in so much better than a totally different color

those ones look ok i guess.. im not a massive fan of clear lights tho.. i like the mazda 3 style lights more, with black instead of clear. Although the clear lights can look ok on some coloured cars.. but maroon isnt one of them sorry, you asked for our opinion..

Never been a fan of frosties or altezzas. Only very rarely do I think they suit the car (Mazda 6, or Lexus IS200/300 for example).

I bought the clear ones then I painted the bottom half. I simply taped up the bits I wanted left clear with painters tape, then did a couple of coats of Polycarbonate spray paint. Now on most websites they recommend using Testor's Transparent Candy Apple Red paint, but it is impossible to source in WA (trust me, I tried everywhere). I did happen to get one can of the stuff, but the end result was complete rubbish. The quality is just not there.

I thouroughly recommend using the TAMIYA Polycarbonate spray (RED) instead. It's available at most hobby shops (Stanbridge's stocks it) and it basically is a spray on plastic. It's brilliant and you cannot tell that it has been painted at all.

MY 2c... IMO...

Light coloured cars (such as silver, white, champagne gold, etc.) suit clear or altezza tail lights & side indicators. :cool:
Darker coloured cars (such as black, burgundy, dark blue/green, etc.) suit tinted tail lights & side indicators. :badgrin:

As for those mid coloured cars such as light to mid blues & reds... :confused:

I heard more than anything it is the reflectives aren't red that is one of the main problems... as red signifies the rear of the vehicle and white the front...while they are well.... frosted white and not red... and yeah... I am sure the luminosity of the red isn't such a strong factor, especially in daylight (Pink!). But the indicators are definitely bright and colourful enough lol

i did this awhile back... turned out alrite nice and red... but you could see the reflector during the day which looked pretty gay... so took it off and put back my stockies...
