Hey guys,
I have a dodgy alarm in my car,
every month it wont alarm/disalarm, so i d/c the 2 fuses it uses (one controls remote signal, one the actual alarm) and plug them back in a week later and it works for another 2-3 weeks and then gotta do the same thing again, so 1 week every month i have no alarm, though i have a fuel cut off switch from my old gas setup, so i just flick that hehe.

Anyway,
All i can get from the alarm is that the remote is a grey rectangle with a button in the middle and a red LED at the end of it. It has a Z in the plastic at the end near the LED. I checked the actual alarm in the engine bay and all it says is
"Electronic Siren"
Model: SR 01 [2][6][7][8].
Is this factory fitted or after market? (it's nicely mounted to the firewall). If you guys need me to take a photo of the remote i can.

I'm guessing it's aftermarket. As far as I know 2nd gens never had any sort of alarm (Magnas at least, don't know about Veradas.)

2nd gens did come out with a factory alarm but it was optional.

Pic 1 shows the remote and the key that goes into the actual siren (circled in pic 2) that disables the siren (but not the alarm).
The key has JD engraved on it, and it's hard to see but the remote has the Z up near the red LED. Anyone have any ideas?

I reckon it is made/distributed by Zylux. Strathfield Car Radio are the re-sellers.
