For all those who have ever wondered why a magna has such a high load rating. Well here is why from the horses mouth! :)
Hi Jason,
May we apologise for the delay in our response.
Your question was referred to the Engineering department and following
is their response.
"Whilst Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd could theoretically reduce the
recommended load index below that shown on the Tyre Placard (because the
actual vehicle weight would allow it), our policy is to follow the Tyre
& Rim Association of Australia's design standard for tyres (which
specifies a standard load index for each tyre size), even though
sometimes this provides a large load margin."
"There are no plans to change this practice at this time because when
building vehicles we take into account the significant overloading that
many owners apply on their vehicles."
