hey i was just wondering if anyone has changed the cv joints in there magna before? or is it better off to get a pro to do it, and what kind of cost are involved? any advice would be helpfull, just trying to save money..........

Ive done the swap with my dad 3 times twice for the boots and once for a new CV joint.

I think i saved about $1800 cause some places wanted $600 for new cv not installed and it takes a some fair effort to remove those beasts.

But if u arent mechanically minded u might better leave it to the experts.

Yeah i did it in my 96 TE :) its a b!tch getting it out.. but it was fun! :D

i got mine done at the local grease shop for 480 installed .

ive done one myself not worth the hassel haha just payed some one $150 for one installed the other week

ended up paying 450 installed, from a local mechanic. ****en mitsubishi were going to charge me 650 and told me i will not get any cheaper in town, ****en rip offs never go to the mitsubishi joint in mildura....

To do one CV joint it only cost me $130 all up. Also got a free service as part of it :D The price depends on whether it's an inner or outer CV joint too.

reco shafts new boots both sides cost me about 80 bucks each

i got my cv joints done for about 230 dollars
if your paying 600 thats a bit to much

yeh it all depend weatehr it the CV join or the CV joint boot. the boot is cheaper, but you can't always tell if you need to replace the boot or the whole joint. bit of a catch 22
