looking at getting a towbar for my Ralliart and I was wondering what packs other Ralliart drivers had on theirs and what they are like at towing.

Do towbars ruin the look of the car

if u get it put it through yur bumper bar u can get a little clip which fits in nice n snug
i'll post a pic in a sec, that way u can take off the little tow bar and clip the plug in and still looks good

Looks pretty neat and tidy. So with doing this the towbar slips back in once you take the little clip off

How much extra are we looking at cost wise to do this

I've got a tow bar on my ralliart and you wont get your bumper looking like that.
Main reason is the bumper is a fair bit deeper than the standard. My tow bar sits about 4-5 inches up from the bottom of the bar.
Looks better if you leave the tongue on tho. BY the way get them to leave the plug in the boot with a long leed looks a lot better

You wouldn't happen to have a pic for me to look at.

How does it go with towing and does it chew through the petrol

depending on how big the load is, if its reallly heavy then yes it does and kills yur acceleration big time

I will take a photo tomorrow for you and post it on here if I can work out how to do it.
As for fuel, if you drive normally on the open road there is very little difference in fuel consumption, but if you hoof the boot in watch the fuel gauge go down !!

I bought a Towbar kit from mitsu last week installed it myself, goes through the hole in the bumper and can remove the tongue.

Did you have to drill any holes or did it bolt straight inn ?
Also do you get all the bolts and bits in the kit ?

No holes need to be made, it slides into the chasis rail behind the bumper, Comes with new longer bolts which replace the original bumper bolts and nuts. Comes with all bolts/nuts/washers needed.

Looks neat.
So the towbar stays in, you can't pull it out.

Did you do the job yourself or get a mits dealer to do it for you

You can take it off but your left with a big hole there, I just leave it in , It also protects your bumper if someone runs into you.
It was on the car when I bought it from mitsubishi
