View Full Version : Filling gearbox
Im wanting to put new oil into the box soon, but im abit confused which bolts are for what, the vr4 box was much more simple, if someone could take some pictures or a diagram for the filler and drain plugs on a manual TN box it would be much appriciated... Ty all

Filler plug is on the side and is a 24mm, its on the front side behind a bracket kinda.
drain is on the bottom and is a 24 as well i think

Me and brendan went and bought a specific sized spanner to get it off because my large ones were at a mates.. his is a 24mm
you might have the other type of box ;)

interesting....sounds like the auto box well i know the TN is the same as the TP and mines a TN box so maybe the TM is 24mm

Ok now im confused loll. So is the filler or drain 17mm?

The TN/P Auto's 24mm. I'm pretty sure the manual is smaller.

well i defently know the filler plug is 17mm cos i tryed to check the oil 2day.....hence TRYED i couldnt get the fruggin bolt undone again :rant:

yeah i have a tn auto and its a 17mm and my tp manual is a 17 to
Ok, now i feel really stupid but i got no ideas.... lol, I have take a pic (soz about the dodge focus) if someone could do a paint job of which is filler and which is drain it would be much appriciated

thats the filler, drain is on the bottom. you fill it till it comes out of the filler hole and ur done.

oh yer sorry about that yer thats the filler do as turbo charade said with filling it
i tried to get the filler nut off, failed in that, damn near rounded right off, so i filled it via the speedo hole, to the amount mr gregories said to do

gota love doin that, lol, in my old rolla i used to do that by taking off the shifter on the input shaft
