JVC KD-615 and I love it

alpine h/u, bought it april last yr. the new ones look a little better for a bit cheaper, i rekon they match the 3red gen interior nicely. some of the alpine models are a silver frame rather than plain black like mine

Clarion DXZ-846MP. First clarion I've had, always used Alpine prior, and I'm very happy with this one. Amp had enuff guts to run my Vibe splits happily too.

Can't fault this unit, sounds sweet as has 3x4 volt preouts, mp3/wma, remote, hp/lp filters, full eq incl parametric. 53wx4(19wrmsx4), control for elec aerial, mobile phone mute connector(for car kits), headlight dimming connector.
Also has a flashing LED function when face isnt connected(looks like a alarm)

Looks good too and you can change display colours to over 720 different ones.

I know it not an ass kicker like some but has an input for a stacker, outputs for an amp, plays MP3s, supports CD-RW and has a USB port on the front for a memory stick. And it can record from the radio or CD onto the memory as well. It also has a remote.

So come on, laugh away, but it suits me down to the ground. :cool:

Hey not at all, it's all about what suits *you* not impresses us or anyone else. If you're happy with the result for the money, that's all that matters. And hey, it looks pretty good anyway. :)

Yeah - Painted myself, just a couple of days ago actually. Must admit I was very happy it matched the Headunit so well.

I know I can't really take points for originality with silver interior painting - buts its so damn classy IMHO.

I would do mine to match the bezel around the HU but I'm trying to keep my car's resale value (for the moment)

Not me! I like it.. the 'auto' dim setting (dim on headlights) doesn't work for me. So I use the dimmer timer (After about 6 pm) and auto on contrast (it reverses contrast after hours). This ensures that I don't have a distracting disco in the corner of my eye.

You can still have all that but with two colours one for 'day' and 'night'. I might do that when I get bored of the cycling.

Has anyone uploaded any custom anims or anything? I haven't yet.. Can't find any to download except for the ones on the JVC site either..

not if u use like, 5 or 6 coats of primer, and the same number of coats of paint!

Its been nearly a year since I painted my console, door handle surrounds, air con vents etc etc. Even high traffic areas like the door handle surrouds look like they were painted yesterday :)
