I was just thinking of installing some angel eyes - I have a TJ II AWD Sports - one piece parabolics I think.
This one in particular:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7970936625&ssPageName=ADME:B:WN:MT:1
Apparently the maximum diameter is 13.4 cm? I know Heath had written in a related forum that the Magna headlights are 14cm in diameter.
According to the FAQs with this sale - the CCFLs are installed inside the headlight lens - so I was just wondering whether a 13.4cm diameter would fit into the Magna headlight (i.e. is the Magna headlight a cone shape) or will it sit awkwardly?
Also wondering has anyone done this mod and have pictures?
Can't wait to put them in! :D
just looks like a white neon
i dunno if any one has done it but it might look aight
If you break the mould around the 2 peices of plastic, dont expect it to seal properly again..
The lights are heat pressed moulded together.. (the clear lense and black mould)
The black peice is heated up and the lense is pushed into it.. This creates the seal on the light so it doesnt leak..
Also, those angel eyes look gay.. Leave it to the BMW's and Audi's...

I myself have considered this mod - and to my knowledge it hasn't been done to a magna. When I first got my parras I tried to pull them apart; ie: remove the outer plastic lense (one of my second hand headlights had a bit of water in it and I wanted to dry it out quickly and give it a wipe down inside).
I found that the outer lense was exceedingly hard to remove - and I gave up when I reached the point at which I thought they would break before they would come apart. I'd make sure I was confident I could get the things apart before I bid on the item in question.

i don't think it would suit a magna anyway the parrabolics are the best plus i hate those light as my eyes can't stand the glare from them they are just too bright

I like them, I say go for it! There was a guide by Heath Young on how to get the parabolics apart, using an oven for ten minutes to heat the glue and then prising them apart.

I am a big fan of them. The look freaken hot on the Bmw. Now every old Bmw on the marked has them and they look cheap and nasty..
I think they will very tachy and ricer on a magna as its a Bmw thing..
Thats my 2 cents worth anyways.. :D :D

Thank you all for your input!
I will think about it carefully - anyone have a wrecked 3rd generation headlight that they don't want?
I would like to practise beofre wrecking my headlights!
you should have total confidence in putting your headlights in the oven!!!

Yeah preheat it then put it for a couple of minutes. I would not leave the site until its done. U don't want the plastic to start melting.
To experiment go to a wrecker get a blinker or something or play with ur blinker. You can make the blinker clear if you don't have one already.

Sounds like a complex task. If you're willing to give it a go I'd love to see the result IMO it would look great on a kj verada...
maan, i have yet to put my parra's on, and want to try n make the eyes, but i dont want to put my expensive parras in the oven :( maybe ill just put the eyes on stock magna headlights :D

There is no real risk, just have to make sure that the plastic does not touch either the elements, or the metal parts of the oven - with lexan front 'glass' - you will need to put down some baking paper to avoid marking the lexan (as it is placed face down in the oven).
The method documented by the webpage (using the perspex rod) works fairly well, but you really need to use high brightness LED's (I suggest Luxeon Stars) and make sure they are well heatsinked.
The LED ones are not visible in sunlight - but are far easier to fit as you can make your own custom sizes.
Cheers
