Hey everybody I've got a bit of an oil leak in a TS magna with 5 speed and 2.6. It's where the gearbox and engine connect directly above the engine number. It appears to be coming out of a semi circle hole if that makes sense? The leak is pretty big and seems to be getting worse. Anyone have an idea of what this could be? Thanks in advance...

I have an idea of what part you mean, however as was previously said, it is at the end opposite the gearbox.

if it at the end with the engine number, the semi circle bit is there to help get a bolt out from inside the engine. You can get them replaced, the rocker cover has to come off, and you just pry the old one out and whack a new one in. I dont know what the part is called tho i am sorry.

i'm not sure what your talking about either but in my v6 i too have a leak from the seal between the engine and the gearbox (bellhousing somewhere there isnt it??). It's a **** position because they have to lift the engine and gearbox to get the old seal out and new one in, as in expensive for labour.... i havent even bothered getting a quote yet...expensive

Your talking about a rear main, you usually only have to remove to gearbox, clutch/flywheel,
it is the seal around the back of the crank

If the leak is at the front of the engine and up high next to an engine mount (LHS of car) it will probably be the rocker cover gasket and "half moon" seal.
If the leak is from the rear of the engine above the gearbox bellhousing then it will be either the camshaft seal (behind the waterpump drive pulley) or the back of the rocker cover gasket.

The cam seal, rocker cover gasket and halfmoon are about $20 the lot, from mitsubishi.

It's on the drivers side.It may have been a gearbox number I was looking at then? Its not coming from the top of the engine, its definetely coming from where the gearbox and engine meet.

If the engine oil is coming from under the engine/g'box and from behind the cover plate on the gearbox bellhousing then it will probably be the rear main crank seal behind the flywheel. you have to remove the gearbox and flywheel to get at it.
