i am about to start the new system but how do you get "0" ga and "4" ga thru the firewall
in a gen 3 verada
u'll see some rubber seals either side of the car
i got mine goin through both and another thing goin through
there were some indepth threads on this a little while back,

0ga fits easily through the grommet in the centre of the firewall down the bottom. Just below the black firewall cover material stuff.
Looking from the inside (for an auto) if you follow the tube from ur auto shifter ul notice a big oval / rectangular grommet, slice a small hole (to keep it water tight) and push the wire through from the inside
Remember to fuse close to the battery.
U could also fit this through the steering grommet but i wouldnt recommend putting it around here, too many moving parts.
But why do you need the extra run of 4 gauge? Just run one 0 gauge and use a distro block in the boot???
Peace

I don't know if this is the same one as Tim's grommet, but there is one in the same area, however if you look from the passenger footwell towards the bonnet right behind the centre console, there is a white plastic cover that looks like a nut protector, if you take that off (it'll take a while) you will see a grommet right behind it.
By the way this is from the perspective of a manual 3rd gen.

That does make sense. the grommet is prob for auto's only and the manuals would have a cover for this.
Im pretty sure there's no cover on the auto's though.
But the grommet itself is massive...
Make sure you use loom tubing when going through. If you cut the wire on the metal edge there's an easy way to burn your car to the ground.
Play safe...
Peace
Tim
I was thinking....how many of u used the big wopping grommet the steering wheel coloum goes into? that seems pretty easy to use and away from the noisey guts behind the dash.

*raises hand*
the alarm system was already going through there as well when i brought the car :d i did make a genuine effort to go through the centre grommet, but when u have a bad back.. its a pain in the ass :(

on the battery side,
follow straight back to the firewall. theres something that looks like a pump.
behind that "pump" theres a HUGE rubber gromett the size of ur palm.
Get a screwdriver.....repeat ***GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR***
~tip of screw driver to robber gromett~
now have BIG massive hole for -100 gauge wire lol
