ok i dunno if this is gonna make much sense but i will try.

i bought a lanzar heritage 1400W 2 channel amp. I was gonna run it in tri mode using front splits and a sub. Untill i found that i cannot use the high and low pass filters in tri mode. I was wondering (dont give me **** if this is a bad idea, this is first car audio i have tried), could i just use 1 channel to run a sub?? or could i somhow wire it up just to run a sub?

I dont think i could run the splits off it as it puts out 2 x 400W RMS (i think) and that would blow my 90WRMS splits right??

Will it sound shyt using the tri mode without filters?? or wont i really be able to tell cos that will save me some money buying some more amps

OK.. 2-channel Amps Don't offer Tri-mode Capability.
4 Channels do..
Use that Amp to run your Subs and invest in another to run your Splits..

Tri-mode means to use Channels A and B to run your Splits
C and D Bridged to run a Sub..
Hence you need a 4 channel Amp..

And Yes 400 W is a tad too much for Splits

hey dude....you can't run tri-mode off a 2 channel amp!!
you amp has two channels, a left and a right. Tri-Mode is usually done with a 4 channel amp, where you bridge the rear two channels, and leave the front two for splits.

I'm afraid you can't run your splits and sub at the same time with that amp. Its either just splits, or sub. 2 x 400wrms wouldn't be a problem for 90wrms splits if you had them tuned properly ;)

If u were to run tri-mode without filters...it would sound like panda poo in a blender with almonds and strawberry yoghurt.

Boy you have a Way with Words :bowrofl:

But you are 100% Correct.. Tri Mode is not an Option and Running an Amp with out filters would mean your Sub would turn into a Huge PA Speaker..
Not good

For starters I wold be very very surprised if that amp could pump out 400 x2 at 4ohms, More likely 100, but then amp companies know that peak power looks better and sells better than quoting true watts, After all your huge 50x4 CD deck only produces 15x4 if ya lucky.

I would have no problem running a good set of 100 watt splits off the amp. You will only damage the speakers one if you turn it up full blast and two if the amp clips and distorts the speakers. I would say the second one is what you will have to be careful of.

While the amp may run tri-mode as it says it will i would never run a amp that way, it's asking for trouble. Either run the splits off it, or bridge it ro run the sub and buy another 2 channel amp, better yet sell it and buy a 4 channel

Yeah, either get a 4 or just buy a monoblock for your sub and keep it for splits.

Ok I have now read the Manual , and although Yes, it does State Tri-mode Capability .. Thats one hell of a Dodgey way to do it and I do not recommend it..
That Amp will Drive Your subs brilliantly but Do not recommend trying to wire it up like that ..

In Order for it to Work you would need to get a Electronic Cross over installed to cutout the High Frequencies from your sub..and the lower Frequencies from your splits This alone would be the Price of another Cheaper Amp to run your Splits..

When it is Setup in Tri mode like that , Your sub recieves the Positive Signal from one and the Negative from the other, Your splits would have to be Cranked at full volume leading to distortion and possibe damage.. Before your Sub would be even heard..

Use it Just for the Subs..
They will appreciate the power..

How many Subs do you own ??
One or Two ??

like doof doof music but listen to a whole range of stuff.... buget say up to 400 including box and can spare the bit towards the back of the boot in a magna. Looking for a 12"...2 if u think it will be better but i dont think budget would allow for that
