Hey Guys,

back from mid semester exam exile and ready for yet another project.
Somewhere along the lines i learnt that GPS was actually "free" in terms of using the satellites. Thus what you actually pay through out nose for is Mapping software. FANTASTIC. :rant:

So me being me..and my car being a Magna i decided to look into this sector of car ...."amusement".


PARTS
Yay for ebay! i got myself a (BT388) bluetooth GPS receiver for $200 (new chipset SiRF*3)
**Destinator 3 is on sale for like $230 AUD now, look around online. i also saw Destinator3 cds on ebay goin for about $180ish.

i combined this lil baby with my PDA which has mapping software, turned the ignition on, pressed a few buttons and ............."Please Drive Safely" in a rather pleasent female voice.

BTW...like..who really needs GPS...but then again who really needs HU that does everything....not like they pat ur dog. **just cos**

Hows she work? Gotten lost yet just so you can let the GPS find ur way home?

hahaha LOL i justtttt did..

the gorgeous part.... "warning, you are speeding" LMAO :bowrofl:

oh and the route i took was to Bell St. Maccas ^-^
and yea, it does re-direct you when u take a detour. verrrry cool

ummm theres this thing about roundabouts...it dosent like them.. haha
its wants to send you the wrong way round. :bowrofl:

You can program in speed and red light camera places!!! thats kinda COOLLLLL...i think my lost is also kinda outdated :P ne1 got a more recent melb speed trap location list ?

all i need now is missiles, invisible camouflage, countermeasures and we got a 007 car!

nah not screwed into dash, that hinge thingy was something in the tool box, its wedged inbetween the centre console and side bit....suprisingly secure! haha and very stealable..but shhhhhhhh
