For that price tag, they are in a league of their own. Obviously not the best splits in the world. But very good value if that's what you're looking for. Means you can afford a bit more on the installation and power side of things possibly.
Only other thing I can recommend is buying 2nd hand

yeah, i dont really wanna go 2nd hand but i dont really need the best system in the world. i just thought that because they were from jaycar that they would be allright quality. well i guess i will just have to buy em and find out and let every1 know if they are worth the cash.

The Jaycar Kevlar are good value for money..
Everyone I know who has them loves them.. See if you cannot demo them before you buy as your ears will be the best judge

I have the kevlars...they're great bang for buck. The treble is pretty bite-y but it's good.

yeah cool, thats prolly the only deff part of my system that i know i wanna get. oh and the GT4-12"s aswell
im still stuck on the head unit though. im thinking the Clarion with the music catcher on it. $499 has come down alot and is on sale at the moment but im not sure if i want to buy it just yet or look around for a more persuasive unit.

I went looking for head units today to replace my stolen one.
I've always like alpine decks..but too expensive for the one I wanted...fell in love with a Kenwood deck (gotta have something I like the look of lol) it's a KDC-MP6029

Have a look at this head unit if you havnt allready checked it out. Its last years model witch will pull the price tag down significantly if u can manage to get ur hands on one.
RRP: $1,029
Reduced to $499

Cheers mate, appreciate the effort, Im just heaps picky with the look of a head unit. So far the only ones I've really liked have been the Alpine ones (but the one I liked the most was $999, Im not paying that!!) and the only other one I've liked is that Kenwood one...but all the pics I find are silver..the one I saw was like an anodised black.

Well good luck with it, hope you can find one that you like, without having to take out a loan on your house to pay for it...
