hey guys, my necvox tv screen has a sat nav mode, like when changing between av1 - dvd, av2 - (playstation when installed), tv tuner, and there is sat nav. what is needed to add to the set up to make sat nav work? i really have no idea,, if its even possible just thought it would be worth asking.
thanks

As far as i know u would need to get a GPS receiver attatched to the moniter and also have the maps installed somewhere and ur set.

I was sat nav shopping recently and thats what i was told. So don't quote me on it.

Hey,

got the PM.... as far as my setup goes...

i have a Pocket PC (PDA) with "Destinator 3" software installed.
Destinator includes maps. Basically GPS navigation is all software based.

what you NEED is a GPS receiver.

i think i read that you have a screen...which COULD mean that "Navigation" is just a visual RCA input. Thus this COULD mean that you need a seperate GPS unit with VIDEO OUT to go into your screen.. (to be completely honest i got NO IDEA :doubt: )

for a definate answer, goto JB-HiFi, they should have a better idea.

Good Luck!

(PS...when it does get workin GPS is AWESOME!!....especially the "you are over the speed limit" warning LOL )

The pocket pc gps are the best, easy to use and very practical, i'd prefer to pay the $800 on the pda which i'd use a lot than more for just the in car gps

Both Dick Smith (Navman Pocket PC) and JB Hi-Fi (Miro 168) have them for around $900.00. If you want to use an existing PDA then you need bluetooth capability as well as Navman's Bluetooth GPS receiver.

Easier and cheaper buying a fully intergrated GPS. I have the Navman Pocket PC and love it!
