I desire to replace the hydraulic tappets in my TS V6 Magna ('95 model) and seek input ideas and suggestions as to the correct process & procedure. The main areas of concern I have are............................

* As I don't intend to remove the cam shaft, do I still have to replace the camshaft oil seals?

* What are these packing pieces that are talked about in the service manual? What do they do, where do they fit? What is this about fitting them with a tube or mandrel and having them sit .5mm from the cylinder head edge?

* There are clips available to hold the tappets into position in the rocker arm while fitting, so the service manual says, but my Mitsu. dealer knows nothing about them. Where are they available from?

* Is there any drama getting the distributor realigned?

* Anything else I need to know?????????

Many thanks.

Magna Merv.
