I was at a race the weekend before last and there was a magna there , there also was another Mitsubishi that was using not 1 but 2 of those dreaded air flow meter's , but they where not using "caughrippoffscam special filters" but a standard home made setup take a look for yourself.

whats your point. all i see there is a very old engine bay with what chances are isnt even running a efi engine with two mas sensors that dont even seem to be hooked up to anything. and also whos to say because they arent using an oval filter the cars performance isnt effected? it could be a big useless piece of sh*t for all we know. im surprised you arent hacking on him for not using a panel.

Well i cant blame you for trying to flame me , but im past that now im trying to be a good little aussiemagna citizen.

If you will note the cable running to the top sensor , i presume that the secondary is a back up so they can simply swap it over if need be. But im interested in your thoery about the engine being carburetted. why would they fit a restrictive system of pipe's and run the air through 2 airflow sensors that where designed to control a electronic fuel injected engine> please inform me.

The car was a Mitsubishi , it was fuel injected and controlled by a computer and it was racing at winton motor raceway at the lastest round of the konica v8 supercar series.

However obvisously you are not as big of a Mitsubishi fan as me but please dont call any Mitsubishi a "big useless peice of shit" in my presense, i get enough of that from non Mitsubishi people. I like classic's and especially from Mitsubishi!

Looks like a Chrysler Galant from the '70s. Definitely old RWD Mitsu/Chrysler.

It appears as if both intake pipes function concurrently. If you look at the flex pipes they lead 2 different MAS sensors.

Who cares how old it was or how well it went, it was obviously ok to be there and the 2 sensors, high flow, combined mapping prob for a motor with a large turbo or something. The reason it works prob is because the main use for the motor is high revs where the air is flowing super fast anyway.

seeing as i seem to be the only one here who doesnt think about what i write(or i could just be the only one who is willing to commit the unforgivable sin of disagreeing with widowmaker) could i just remake my point that it doesnt matter that there are two mas sensors (which is completely pointless anyway because all they do is measure air flow so its not going to make ant difference if you have one or a hundred unless each has its own ecu) because the engine looks like its not efi and one of the mas isnt even fricken connected! until widow can back himself up with some engine details his original dig at pod filters is still just tripe.

Boo hoo hoo. All you seem to be doing is having a go at me .... but that's ok

seems to me your just avoiding the point coz someones challenged you and you dont have a legitimate comeback. like i said show some evidence to support yourself and ill take it all back.

I dont want you to take anything back..... I want YOU to tell me why they have air flow meter's for a specific EFI system on a non EFI system.

because in that photo i cant see any injector rails, any wiring set ups, nothing to prove its efi except two mas that arent hooked up. it looks like a very old engine that wouldnt have been efi and you arent showing or giving anything to prove otherwise.

Well sorry when i was taking the photo i was only interested in the air flow setup and wasnt really thinking about some guy who just wants nothing more then to start a fight over anything.

So if you really want to find out so much about that car i invite you to , so unless you have somthing important to post i wont bother reading it.

Have fun ;) :D
