jumped in the car at lunch time today and realised that i didnt have a speedo.. havnt done anything that could have caused it to stop and all other gauges are working fine which suggests it isnt a fuse of any kind...

Not a clue on the speedo, i would have thought fuse

your speedo is cable driven like most cars (except newer cars and the 1st gens with digi dash)? so i reckon youve snapped the speedo cable

please excuse me for being retarded... but where in hell is the speedo cable?

the speedo cable runs from the back of the instrument cluster down to the speedo drive on the top of the gearbox. look for the cable that goes from the gearbox to the firewall, (not the gear selector cable)
