What does everyone think, i've been told by my exhaust guy that the stock VRX are as good as, if not better than the pacemakers.
Does anyone know?

VRX headers are the same cast iron headers as an executive, solara, sports.
Get some pacemakers, they make a little difference, but not alot.

They are the same pieces of cast iron ****e as everything else except ralliart. Extractors do make a difference and also make a good sound. Its no revolution as above but will make a difference.

Well I fitted Pacemakers on my previous TH Sports. I'd previously fitted a VR-X exhaust, so the exhaust system was essentially the same as a VR-X. Anyway, I really can't say I noticed anything spectacular - maybe a bit freer above 4500 rpm...maybe.
So I wouldn't say not to fit Pacemakers, but equally don't expect a big change either.
Interestingly, the exhaust place that fitted the Pacemakers wasn't that excited when they looked at the design. It was the first Pacemakers they'd fitted to a Magna, and they felt that the shape and design wasn't as free flowing as it might have been. I dunno the ins-and-outs on header shape etc - but that was their view and I guess they've seen plenty of 'em over the years.

which exhaust shop did you go to so i know never to go there?? pacemakers are much better things then the ****ty cast iron "extractors" on the VRX.. i dont even class them as extractors.. their exhaust manifolds, nothing more!
is the kw per $ thing worth it.. well maybe not.. but the likes of lukey make very good extractors for a much cheaper price and they defently are worth it. pacemakers are ultimately better tho if you can afford it!

RJ25: you're a feisty little thing on these forums aren't you?
No one is stating that Pacemakers are inferior to the stand cast iron jobs, and my post didn't say that. There was a perception that the design of the Pacemakers while an improvement over the standard headers still wasn't the best shape that it might have been. Hence, others such as RPW etc are also in the market.
And I'll say again - don't expect any significant boost in performance with them. I'm not sure I'd stump up the cash again given very small perceptible return.

As far as i'm aware, the only real difference in the exhausts between the executive and vrx is the muffler.
Or at least thats what i was told by someone who works at mitsubish.
They told me not bother with extractors, and just change the muffler and expect about 5% increase tops.
That's my 2 cents worth
How much are Lukey extractors worth then? Where can you get them in Sydney? Are they really much worse then Pacemakers????

Hi guys
Extractor are better because the gas are flowed better into the exhast system, there are acouple of different pf extractor like short primary and long primary,Iwould prefer a set of long primary. Were stock headers are so short that flow is not the best
