Have found just recently that the gearbox was becoming stiffer inbetween gears but only on rare occasions. But just the other night launched at a set of lights and went to hit second to find that the gearbox wasn't letting me engage second, felt like the gear stick was springing back towards neutral ( manual box by the way ) So i thought i would try most gears and it seems that if the revs are up there it wont engage, and if you try to drop it back a gear it wont engage either until the revs drop off. Now i have had the clutch changed for a rather better model due to the original packing it in around the 165k mark. So i'm not expecting it to be any probs with this. I'm thinking more on the gearbox or even the cables. Had a look under the bonnet and sitting behind the rear bank is the seletor cables and one of them has been resting (lazy bugger ) on the extractors and worn through to the steel cable. Could this be causing this problem????????
So any help or prior knowledge on this case would be much appreciated.
