I just open a car hood  and tried to find oil filter - unsuccessfully. Can you describe in plane English - where it is? And do I really need some tools to take it out for oil change or it can be done without any wrenches?

On a 3rd gen it's only accessible at the bottom of the engine bay (from under the car). In front of the sump, close to the front right wheel.

Thanx.

PS What is funny if someone wasn't born with caliper in hands? http://www.tusovka.com.au/images/smiles/ha.gif

You just need an oil filter wrench. Looks like this:

I am not positive but i think you can reach it with the airbox off.(?)

Don't do it back up with the wrench though. It'll be a real bastard to get off next time. Just tighten the filter by and three-quarters of a turn after it contacts the filter housing.

doesn't hurt to put a light smear of oil around the face of the seal before fitting

you can get a tool (forget proper name..) that is like a wrench, but with a chain attached to it, you tighten the chain around the filter and then use it like a normal wrench. costs about 5 buks down at supercheap :)

Mine was quite easy to unscrew....Didn't even need a tool..came straight off with a little effort. Just be careful....and make sure you got like 10 layers of newspaper spread out right around the place...coz I did my first oil change a few weeks ago and I did not expect the oil to shoot that far from the sump hole. I put the bucket directly under it....thinking yeah this will be right......then the oil just pissed right out at almost 45 degree angle and none went in...all over the driveway :P
