Ok i need help with something, and someone of you has to know something about auto boxes. i Don't know all that much, so any help would be appreciated.
ok, my box is clunky, slow changing, and takes a while to go into drive but not other gears. Now, i took the car to my warranty's approved repairer or whatever and he quoted me anywhere between 1500-2800 dollars. apparently theres a seal in the end case(?) that is machining itself off, and now i rang someone else cos i thought that this was too pricy, and he said that itd be 650+200 for labour costs, coming to 850. Is there anyone who can shed a bit more light on the problem for me, and share thoughts about the price and what it should be, as the warranty that i got with the car only covers me for 1000. I am still getting quotes off other people so ill post up what i find out, but any help would be appreciated. Oh yeah he also said that i would lose drive gear, they both said this, does anyone know of a way to tell how long ive got, as i use this car for work, and i really dont have an extra thousand to pay the excess on the warranty so help.....
