Have a Car Audio Theory you need Sorted out??

E.G. Can I run a 18 inch Sub in a 1 foot Enclosure and Expect High SPL ???
(No cause literally 1 foot is smaller then an 18 inch sub anyway)

You trying to keep all the Audio questions localised in one thread?? Just trying to get a clearer idea of what your looking for in here...
Cheers

Yeah may be easier for ppl to just make new threads. Easier to search through me thinks.

How about if anyone has a question please feel free to make a new thread...

Peace

Tim

This could be turned into a sticky and it would really clean out the audio forum

True that, but it might end up think some wierd chat room where 2 or 3 people are all asking questions at once. It is good when new people ask exactly what they want then it is easier to fix there audio needs. Although this is a good thread for theroies about SPL and SQ.

Not exactly what I meant..
More like

If my Friend has Two 10 inch Sealed subs being Fed Casey Chambers , I Should be able to whoop him in a Sound off if I used a 15 inch Ported being Fed by the Smashing Pumpkins ??

You know Theories... Problems are different for everybody.. Theories are easier to shoot down then problems..

The big issue is that I could write two hundred pages of audio tech... :(:(:(

FHRX... Make a Book !!!!
It would be a great thing to offer to those who come in and get a full install from you as then they would be able to understand about what they have just got into....

Yeh best to sell it to them after the install is finished too lol otherwise bye bye income!

Or He could just sell the book for a Handsome figure and make money that way... but the fun of installing would be gone..

I've actually thought of making my journals into a book but like Tim said, that is what I do for a living. :(

On the other hand, discounting other workshops, the people who'd buy the book are the people who'd probably do it themselves anyway, and at least with your words of wisdom for guidence they'd have a better chance of getting it right.. and if other workshops read your books and implemented your techniques you'd have the satisfaction of knowing that there are more cars out there with things done The Right Way(tm) all thanks to you :D

I doubt you'd lose business as a consequence.. there are always people who are willing to pay good money for something to be done right the first time (I know I am), and what better place for people to go to than the man who wrote the book!

Hehe, thanks mate but we're all learning everyday. I'm no better than plenty of other people around here. Names like Paul Graham, Paul McDowell, Bruce (aka Cyberpunky etc) spring to mind when speaking about the best of the best... :)

I have one theory in Car Audio and that is KISS

Keep It Simple Stupid....

Don't go and buy a Stacker with Cassette Option if you don't own a Cassette ( I have seen many people do this)

There is no need to get a 3-way Co-axial Speaker as a 2-way will do the same Job...

If you have Bought a $2 speaker don't expect a $500 sound....

Anyone else got any Theories??
