After having my car back for around 2 months last night since it was cold i decided to turn on the heater and fan, got the heat but no fan. All the other controls work (direction, cold/hot, fresh/recirc) Now i am wondering what controls this fan? Does it run off the ecu? )(coz im not running the magna one anymore) or is probably just a blown fuse?? Thanks all

Id be checking fuses and power to the fan first.. Must be a simple explanation... :D

dunno how its wired up, i had a look at the gregorys wiring diagram and put it in the too hard basket. fuses i did check briefly, the ones in the engine bay and ones on the drivers side dash near the bonnet release seemed ok. maybe i just missed something.

if its just the fan chances are its the resistor block in the blower motor theres a thread floating around here

they have the comon gen1 problem of only a few working i would check and change the resistor block 1st

Had a look at the fueses, seem to be ok. tryed to find where this resistor was but couldnt find it  If someone could take a pic or something it would be greatly appriciated....

off topic: Put in my geniune Mitsubishi 7volt regulator and the petrol gauge is spot on, cost $30 for the reg and heatsink but atleast now i dont fill up 20times a week :D lol

if mine is taken to far to the right (drivers side) so if you pull it hard to level 4, then it sometimes wont work, seems to be tempremental. but 1-4 itself works fine. my hilux doesnt have low or 2 but has 3 and high. kinda nnoying if you dont want full blast.
the switch itself is the problem and must be replaced. which is a biatch to get to, basic removeal of the dash in my opinion. but its well consealed. enjoy.
however thought comes to mind, if ure switch doesnt work at all, it could very well be the fan has died. trial and error. a multimeter is ure friend.
