They don't like mods that much.

Ring them and ask them what their policies are. They'll be more than happy to help...and take your money ;)

It won't be cheap I can assure you.

I'm insured with RACV which is the same company as NRMA (they are one insurance company called IMA but trade under different names in diffrent states) and I have no problem insuring my car.

1998 TF magna
Side Skirts
Front Lip
Pedders Springs *
Koni Shokers *
Exhuast *
Steza
Rear Spolier
Tint
wheels *
ect
ect

I'm 23, rating one, and pay $595 per year Fully Comp.

I also used to work for AAMI in claims, and its a good point to know that Body Kits are not classifed as Mods, the are classed as accesories.
The diffrence in being is that insurance compnays don't like mods, or too many mods, but have no problem with accesories. Accessories are items which do not improve the performance of the car. As a guide, I have put an mark next to my "mods" for your information :)

Hey, well in that case I'm insured the same as Ash. :P

But mind if I ask how exactly you are paying so little for full comp?? I'm paying close to the $1k mark per year... And I'm a rating 2 according to their records.

Why are you paying so much? You're in NSW that's why

NSW is the most expensive state for car rego, insurance etc.

And we have the most strict laws :(

NSW SUX!!!!!!!

Ryan, for your location it says your from Victoria. Insurance is based on risk, the main elements involved with risk are Car, Driver, Location. I'm 23 so I guess if your the same age as me I can only put it down to location. Insurance is based on post codes. Each company will have a risk level set out for post codes. If your area is high, it does not mean your area is a high crime area, it could just mean you live near a major shopping center. Take for example where I live, my car costs 595 p/a to insure, but the same car, same person, same rating in the suburb next door to me (wantirna south) will pay more because Knox City Shopping Center (one of Melbournes Largiest shopping Centers) is located in that post code. This means more claims in that post code due too high level of accidents in shopping carparks and intersections, and of course car theft in major shopping centers. Working in claims for a year and a bit, you find it amazing how many accidents happen in shopping centers.

NSW insurance is different to Victoria. In NSW the have to pay Compolsary third party insurance to a insurance company where as in Victoria the compolsary third party is included in your rego from VicRoads (RTA) and is know as your TAC premium.

Anyways, fire any insurance questions you like guys, I'm more than happy to help. :)

Well I live very close to you Ash... I live off Canterbury Road in Bayswater North. :P

I think the main problem is that I had a couple of speeding fines a couple of years ago, and the car has been bought on finance, so that slapped a couple of extra dollars on it.

Hmmm speeding fines should not make a diffrence unless your insued with Just Cars Insurance.

Your post code is the same risk as mine (I moved from Hamilton Road Bayswater North about a 6 months ago) So hmm finance would be the deciding factor. If its sercured to the car, that would be it!

I used to have my Magna with NRMA - but they only insure cars with up to $3000 worth of stereo gear. Once I went over, they wouldn't even insure the car at all then.

With RACQ (QLD's version) now.
