yea i get that smell too when i turn on the aircon after washing the car and leaving it in the garage for awhile. it's like a sour smell. but the smell goes away after the aircon has been turned on for awhile. seems some water gets trapped somewhere in the circulation vents and it starts to smell after awhile... i don't know :roll:

we had this in our TR - it ended up that the heater core was leaking and the smell was wet carpet.. it costs heaps to get the core replaced cos its right in the middle of the car and you have to pull the dash out and everything - but you can usually tell if this is the case if your windows fog up when you wind them up and leave the car overnight..

not sure how easily its replaced on a TH tho if thats the case..

also it could just be must from not useing the aircon for a while when was the last time you used it?

My brothers mate complained about a funny smell. His solution was to keep the windows down. My brother finally complained about it and turns out a small mouse had died in his airvent.

Oh i thought you where talking about me for a second..... have you checked the fan chamber thing maybe there is dead leaf's or a dead president in there ?

i use it all the time. don't think is anything fishy in there cos the smell goes away. the sour smell only appears after i wash the car and the car sits in the garage for some time. and after the aircon is turned on for awhile, the smell completely disappears and never comes back. weird eh?
