I was wondering how much new front and rear sway bars would cost me and what would need to be done to put in a rear sway bar or isn't it possible in a wagon. Also as I'm constantly looking for a v6 manual wagon I only want to do mods that I can swap onto a v6. Are the sway bars for the 4cyl wagons the same as the v6 wagon ones? I used the search function this time :) but I didn't find any specific info.

Look on the Whiteline site.

www.whiteline.com.au.

Sadan and wagon bits are different because of the different rear suspension.

I did the Rear and front bars and the castor kit on a KS wagon about 4 years ago.

Cannot recommend highly enough.

Nah I'm talking about the front sway bar. I want to know if the ones on the 4 cylinders are the same as the ones on the v6's, cos sometime I may get a v6 so I want to be able to swap stuff over. I'm 99% certain that the strut braces are the same though.

what was involved to get the rear sway bar on. because as far as I can tell the wagons don't come with one stock.

It is an easy DIY job.
2 brackets at the front end of the axle radius arms.
2 U bolt clamps over the axle tube.
If you have ramps or axle stands it should take about 30 minutes.

Sorry the car is sold otherwise I would get pics for you!

Thanks for that! did you have to weld the brackets on?

No all the brackets bolt on.

From memory the front brackets use the front radius arm bush retaining bolts.

The bar to axle tube brackets are held on with U bolts that clamp over the axle tube and hold the bar in a bush each side of the centre of the car.

The V6 has a totally different sway bar set up that the 4 cylinder Astron. For example the drop links between the sway bar and control arm on the V6 are much much longer than the Astrons very tiny units. The sway bar is also thicker on the V6.

So the front sway bars AREN'T interchangeable between the 4's and 6's then. I would assume that a rear one would be though cos they run the same rear suspension setup don't they?

The rear suspension set up on a TS / KS wagon is different to the sedan.

GO have a look at the whiteline catalogue.
http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/catalogues/WLA_02B.pdf

Go to Page 59.

Yeah I know that I was just asking if the REAR swaybar can interchanged between the TR/TS, 4 and 6 cyl wagons.
Also in the whiteline catalogue it dosen't list seperate bars for the 4 and 6 cyl.
