Hi,
Just wondering if a TJ sports muffler would fit on a TE and how much would that cost me?

Just want to replace my muffler (it has some slight holes in it) so, I thought instead of buying a stock I want to buy something that will give my car a bit of grunt but doesnt sound like a tank comming down the street. And something where my friends and I can talk in the car without having to should because of the muffler.

go shopping for a largeish straight through muffler.........you'll get the grunt and next to no noise at low revs. lukey, redback are very quiet or xforce, magnaflow if you want a little bit more noise...

I agree with the above, don't bother with the TJ sports muffler buy an aftermarket straight through muffler instead.

The TJ sports/vr-x/ralliart mufflers are not a straight through muffler.

to answer your original Q:

MIMR924731 - Muffler Assembly Main - $347.20 + GST
MIMB687014 - Gasket Exhaust Flange - $17.54 + GST

this is a Mitsubishi stainless steel bodied VRX-spec sports muffler with a large single 'down-bent' outlet pipe that'll fit your rear bar and should bolt straight up to the rest of your TE exhaust. Price is about a year old - maybe a bit less now.

where's the best place to get this done? should i just go down to my local supercheap/repco/etc and buy one, then take it to an exhaust shop to get fitted?

anyone had a straight-thru muffler done in perth and can recommend somewhere?

Get the Lukey LR2779 It's in my opinion and a lot of others the best bang for buck muffler for a Magna. $160 fully installed, possibly $200 depending on if they decide they want to charge more for some reason.

way too expensive for the magna sports muffler... crackhead prices...
Go to your local exhaust shop and ask them to look up Lukey AL4-5597... it is a bolt on 2.5inch straight through...I paid about $150 fitted... though u could easily bolt it on u yourself...with any straight through muffler you might want to get an extra hotdog 2.5 inch straight resonator fitted @ unless you like it LOUD..

I did the usual ring around and carline quoted me about $220 or something. Got this place to do it for me for $160 fully installed and it was a damn good job.

unless ur TE is a 3.5 the exhaust wont fit. The 3.0 exhaust is a bit different and the TJ sports muffler is about 300 bucks
