Hi everyone, we got low profiles on our 2nd gen maily cause my dad thought it would be cool, 1, does it have an effect on fuel ecnomy,2, how much does this throw the speedo out of whack.
thanks

Have you got the low profiles on stock rims or are the rims aftermarket ones? If the outer diameter of the new tyres is less than on the old ones it will make your speedo show you going quicker than you really are. If the low profiles are on stock rims may I ask the question WHY? :doubt:

well Um yeah, there on the stockies, i think the size is 215/60 R15 so i think its a fraction smaller than the normal ones. And why you ask, i have no idea, my dad thinks its like a ferrari (lol) so he thought the low profiles would make it look slicker. hes a stooge

Ha ha. Oh well it would make it look a bit lower. If you want your speedo recalibrated you could probably ask your local tyre place where you can get it done they should know.

hmm, that also increases the gap between the wheels and the archway :/

as long as you maintain correct tyre pressure it won't affect your economy either

well yeah it does look a little lower but no one can really tell. the speedo is definatly wrong but i think by fitting normal tyres (which will be soon cause the ones on now are wearing) should fix things up. and thanks for your suggestions and comments
