Well im 1/3 the way through installing speakers in the front doors of my TS. Ive mounted one in the left door, just gotta wire it up, then put the one in for the rhs. I would of wired it up thisarvo, but ran out of light. Not too bad an effort, as i did that plus made up the spacers for the speakers in an hour or so. Cutting the trim was dead easy. Highly reccommended to anyone who hasnt done this yet, as ive heard the sound differenced are good, and it is easy (so far) to do.
Quick question: Does anyone know exactly where the cables come out from the door grommets? in the lhs im thinking i might just remove the glove box and keep searching. Any help appriciated

Good stuff... I'd presume they go down, take out the kickpanel there should be a little cavity there...

But I've never seen one of these so could be misleading...

Good to see there weren't any hassles

up unfortunately. Ill take out the glovebox and see what i can find....

cutting the door trim was easy. Marked on the outside where to cut, drilled the mounting holes, realised it was easier to cut from inside, so aligned template on inside to holes and went from there. Deady easy to do

the wiring to the front doors in a gen 2 passes thru the "A" Pillar on the LHS just above the ECU and cna be accessed with the glovebox and liner out.
The RHS passes thru above the fuse box it is a little tricky to get at because it obscured by the dashboard supports and also the main wiring loom to the dash. probably easiest to get at the hole with the dash panel from below the column removed. then disconnect the wiring to the column and unbolt the metal brace that holds the connections for the steering column from under the dash (3 x 12mm & 1 x 10mm nut/bolts) this should make it easier to access and move things to run wires out of the RHS "A" pillar.
