Ok I'm sorry if this post has already been done, I tried to search the forum but couldnt find anything specific...

I want to change the dash gauge lights, the centre console/heater lights, and the auto transmission drive selecting light thingy (next to auto stick) to BLUE lights..

Ive managed to get the gauge cluster out, and there about a thousand "semi-screw-in bulbs" some larger than others, used to illuminate behind the gauges. Now i dont know if anybody else knows but those lights that sit above the gauges and illuminate the whole gauge cluster, I want to get rid of them, so at night all you see is blue numbers and needles etc.


Where can i buy more of these little plug bulbs? or do I have to modify the originals? or is there another way of doing it??

And how do I remove the temp control panel? Ive got everything out from around it, but I cant get behind there to investigate the bulbs? How do I remove it???

And the same with the autobox thingy..how do I unplug those wires that are holding it in underneath so I can get to the lights?

Your better off getting white/luminous dials like i've got in my TS. cost around $300 installed but i'm in sydney but i'm sure someone in perth does the same thing so don't worry about changing lights

yeh but i dont know if i can justify spending that much on them when the only color i want is blue.

and they dont really cover the other areas i want to make blue so yeah..

Manual or Blake didnt they do something like this? or something?

Been there done that. And now i can say SUCESSFULLY! I have BLUE!

I think red would look better with your car

I thought about this too TZA...but I think red would look strange. I think the blue would be a nice contrasting colour thats not going to be seen all the time.

Plus when I have red faced dials, it's probably not a good idea to have red lights...will make driving in dusk a bit hard, coz I always have my lights on at that time (So many accidents happen coz ppl "didnt see anyone coming" hence why I have my lights on all the time)

So that's the main reason, blue would contrast against the red and make it easy to see at dusk.
