Gday all. I have a problem with my 88 TN carby auto Magna. It will drive fine and idle smooth for a while and all of a sudden on stopping, for a set of lights or something, it will idle very rough. Jumping from 200rpm tp 1000rpm and borders on stalling. It usually sits at about 800rpm in Drive at idle. I have checked everything but to no solution. I think it is electrical as when the lights on my dash are on they fade in time with the engine surges. And i cant explain the reason why it will only do it after driving for a while and not as soon as i start the car. It sounds really bad almost like i have a lumpy cam which i dont. It has me worried and any help would be greatly appreciated. Dan

maybe ur alternator is stuffed (ie lights dimming). maybe ur carby isnt getting enough air or something. hows the air filter?

I have the exact same problem
do you have a 4cyl or 6cyl?
