Cool man,
I been thinking of getting a set of last years model on the cheap plus the 6x9's to match. Dunno wiether to be a cheap arse and get the 3 ways or go all out for the component setup.
If you dont mind me asking how much did you score them for? Would be interested to know your thoughts on the sound they put out when its up and running fully :D

scored them for $100 off a mate 2 weeks old and they are this yrs model
was just about to install my kicker splits when a mate offered these to me, took them so i didnt have to worry about installing a separate tweeter. And im pretty satisified with them, still running them in with my amp, but they crack, also running them witha 12" pioneer sub in the boot, just installed a few hrs ago and just have to wire my rear speakers up to the amp (5 min job) just waiting till tomorrow when i install the amps properly so they dont move around. Rear speakers are the 4-way pioneer competition ones, over kill i know but im gonna run them on low gain so they dont overpower the front speakers. Should be done by the end of the week if i carpet the extra stuff tomorrow.
cheers

They Crack ?? doesn't that mean they sound bad??
Or did you mean they " Crank" meaning to go Hard and loud ???
I would have Installed the Kicker splits for a Better front stage, but the Pioneer TSD's do go very Hard...
and at $100 thats a sweet deal...
Did you have any problems mounting them ?? did the Magnet hit the window ???

no the magnet didnt hit the windows (they arnt as big as the 6*9's ones), had a bit of trouble getting the wires outta the way of the hook on the bottom of the window, but easy fit, have just fitted them onto the stock plastic mounts for now using the outside holes on the speakers and drilling new ones onto the plastic mounts. Next holidays im planning on making some mdf ones to get it sounding a bit better, but for now they are going nicely.

They crack as in go hard but still a very crisp and clean sound.

And when i take the speakers out next to do the mdf baffles i will also deaden the doors as they do reasonate a bit when the volume goes up. Just didnt have the time or money yesty to worry about this, but i see that ill need to do it soon.

one question though, when i was checking i had the channels right i was shifting the balence from left to right and when i shifted it to one side it gave me no sound at all, but both speakers have sound when the balence is on the center. Any ideas stimulate, FHRX? or anyone else

Check ur amp settings. Most likely set to mono instead of stereo. Should be a switch on it somewhere.
Mono has only one signal source coming in. Whilst stereo has both left and right. Playing mono means u are missing out on all ur stereo effect. (You may as well be listening to one speaker in front of you.)

peace

grrr i think the idiots that wired up my stereo have crossed the rca lead at the headunit and the pairs are rear and front mixed if that makes sense. So when i fade from left to right im fading from front to rear instead. Grrr ill go down there and get them to fix it, second time iv had to go back and see them as the first time the power wire fell out and they left the sub rca leads out. Should of done it myself!

Where did you get it done ???

If they even think of Charging you to fix up their mistakes, then yeah do it your self...

yeh i wish i did it myself and they wont charge me or ill give them a bad name. I was just too lazy to do it myself as iv already done over 11 stereo installs and about 4 of them this yr i was just sick of pulling dashes out. Just wanted to concentrate on my boot install.

its a local joint in dubbo, cant say names as they owner is a client of my bros hence why i got some of the gear discounted but no discount on the install.

That sucks. Happened to me  but i was installing it. It makes the sound all **** from your speakers if this happens as well. Its an easy fix and you can just swap the rca leads at the amp. Unless you are only amping one set of speakers.

or in my case using different amps to amp the front and rear speakers on either side of the boot and not wanting to using extension rca leads to make an ugly boot install
