Yeah i like it without the chrome strip all around.
TJ's come like that
i dont think its removable
you'll just need to mask around it and colour code yourself

My Old TH Sports had that silver lining thingy around the window... I think it looks cool only on 60s cars :D

I love it on my car..but it has a fair bit of chrome on it already so it suits it.

Yes it can be unscrewed from the car... there are about 12 philips screws holding it in place....
also the rubber bit that is on the B piller need to be pulled down to allow the metel strips on the B piller to be loosend to allow the whole thing to come off.
Just carefully remove the rubber and you will see how it comes off.

PS I also like the chrome look... But thas just me :D

yep...
Just carefully peal the rubber moulding back and all will be seen.
take your time pushing the ruber back into the track when you are finished...
I used a plastic shoe-horn end to help push it back into place.

Id get some sort of primer on there first to bond to the shinny stuff and the plastic...
Also Id think that you would need to "scuff" up the chrome bit before painting to allow the primer to bond.

The chrome stips looks awesome.
You long should keep them...they give the car class...
Just my opinion

do you think powder coating would be a better option so it doesn't scratch easily? if so exspensive or not?

Can not powder coat ... as there is plastic on the strip as well...
Unless you wanna pull it totally apart ... BAD IDEA!
just paint it or get one off a TJ.

The Magna VRX's come with black stock, try and find it from a wrecker, it maybe cheaper than painting.

If I saw a VRX at a wrecker it would almost make me want to cry :(
So sad, it died so young

while unfortunately i dont really have much to offer in terms of helping with the chrome strips, i would like to commend TbuTcher and sinergy for actually answering spready's questions. i dont want to sound like im having a whinge but i cant remember spready asking if everyone else thought he should leave it chromed coz it can get really annoying when you have a problem and all everyone wants to do is go against you rather than help with what you asked. something to keep in mind when readying posts asking for help not opinions. good luck spready, hope you get it looking how you want. i know how it is when youve got a set look your after and no one else agree's with it. sorry if ive come across to narky.

I am a bit late to the party but eh.
I have done this to a camira so like tbutcher said, scuff up that chrome real well, and prime it or else it will come off like butter, remember preperation is the key here.
But I would probably buy some new if you can. And if your gonna paint them make sure it is matt black as that's what the newer models have, I dont think I have seen any shiny ones yet.
Oh yeah, I like the chrome look.
