Hey Guys/Girls

I picked up my 92' Verada Ei Wagon (Ex Mitsu fleet then private owner) late last year with about 270 on it, yes I know that's quite a lot but a first car is a first car...

While driving it away, I noticed that the trans was shifting, pausing in neutral, then dropping back into gear and then upshifting properly. Sometimes, under heavy braking, the transmission will clunk into second down from third. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

After a few months of running, my brother snapped the left hand CV while trying to do a burnout... It was replaced ok, but this has generated numerous problems, such as the suspension and steering on the left hand side being grindy and generally unpleasant. Is this likely to need major repairs?

When I dropped my car into be serviced today, the mechanic told me that the valve stem seals were worn, resulting in the clouds of smoke that herald the arrival of my car... Is this a big job? He said it was quite expensive, so what's a likely estimate?

That's pretty much it, other than these problems it's been a great car to drive, handles well and is pretty easy on the juice.

Thanks

Jono

Umm do not have any idea why your trans is playing up, this is the Mitsu prefered procedure for care of the running gear in Verada's....jk

Perhaps try a trans fluid change and also try not letting your bro drive the car if he can not repect what is not his.

The valve stem seals can be done heads on if the mechanic knows what they are doing

Should not cost too much
