If you've been watching the 3rd Gen posts, Mods and Tech Talk, you probably know that I have an itch for tinkering.

I don't have a 2nd Gen or easy access to one, but can get parts to play with. What I would like to know is:

1) How many different Engine variations are there?
2) Does each Engine have a different Throttle Body - any interchangeable esp 4cyls?
3) What size TB does each engine have
4) Are there common Throttle Body mods being done? Oversizing, Flowing, Twins?
5) Is there much 'meat' in the walls of the TB's for oversizing?

Firstly I'll be building the info into a spreadsheet which will be available on request or from AMC if they will host it.

Secondly I'll further investigate TB working opportunities.

If anyone has *spare* TB's lying around that they'd like to donate for inspection or trial modification please PM. I can pickup in Newcastle!

Thanks in advance. :D

i have an rpw oversized one as stated in that other thread, it is just a flow stock unit i'm pretty sure. The 4cyls and 6cyls have the same intake/throttle body set up in the second gens.

1) carby 4cyl, efi 2.6 4cyl, efi 3.0 6cyl.
2) efi t/b are the same don't know **** about carbies.
3) Stock i'm pretty sure its 60mm and mine is machined by rpw to 65mm.
4) rpw are pretty much the only source for mods to the t/bs. they offer oversized in twin quad and six packs with the quad and six packs being for non-street use. Huge top end gains with losses down low.
5) 5mm is pretty good, i'd have to look at my sisters ks to compare but my walls aren't that thick now.

Rpw have a good bit of info on their website which is the obvious www.rpw.com.au i'm pretty sure

i have an rpw oversized one...
GTRICE, Do you notice much difference? Down low, up high, overall ? Was it a worthwhile mod (quick quick do it - or leave it to last).
Thanks.

EZ Boy, Great to see you thinking of us 2nd Gen owners. please keep us informed.

pretty sure stock is 60mm and rpw oversize to 65mm. I wouldn't mind this mod, you could do mine as a test :P.

I'm sure it'd be simple to take the t/b off, i've never needed too, a bit better low down response, just because it's bigger doesn't mean it flows better but yes a worthwhile mod, TZABOY did it you'd have to ask him, i'm just comparing to driving other ts'.
