Hi all,
Quick question - for those with external stackers, where did you all mount them - and what was the course for which you ran the cable (eg - through the centre consol, down the gap in the carpet under the centre armrest to under the passenger seat)
I would like to put mine in the boot but from my rough estimations this would probably involve pulling out the rear seat cushions, door sills etc to track though to the boot.
I'm therefore thinking of putting the stacker under the passenger seat would be easier - but not a real fan of drilling into bodywork rather than trim.
I've been provided with a 2.5M cable for the stacker so distance probably isnt the issue.

Mines in my boot... Takes 2 seconds to remove the back seat... there are two clips on the front, just pull and lift the seat.
Then u can fit wire up the side into the boot.
Mine is currently behind the left tail light sitting upright, was gonna incorporate it into the boot install but not sure if Im going to keep the stacker.
If you dont want to drill just mount it on a piece of mdf and use velcro to keep it down.
You should never have to put extra holes in ur car...
Peace

i have mine in the boot, however my stereo install was pretty huge - 3 screens, subs, amp, hu, and 4 speakers all at once, but its definitly worth putting it in the boot

Mines under the passenger seat. I actually mounted it on the seat itself so there was no drilling into the bodyworks.
At least I can change CD's whilst driving :) (Mind you its a 10 stacker and I still need to change cd's :P)

Thanks for your prompt reply guys.
Tim - quick question - did you run the cable down the centre consol, then diagonally under the carpet up to the plastic wire cover under the left passenger seat then through to the boot?

Yerr I used the cable channels on the left side of the car then through that plastic protector and into the boot.
You can go anwhere under the carpet, but if you leave a cable on the factory sound deadener the tar will seep through and can make a bit of a mess (no biggy) So I avoid running across it. To get to the factory channels on the left side just unclip the kick gaurds that you step onto when u get into the car.

If you want it in the boot there is a spot on the right hand side. Pull off the carpet towards the back right and behind this and the side of the car is a bracket. If you have a slim stacker you can put it between the side of the car and the bracket. As there are already various holes in the bracket then you can attach there. Once that is there you can ct a small piece of the boot lining out to get access. Very discreet and doesnt take up any room but it depends on how permanent an installation you want.

i had mine under the passenger seat,
then moved it into the boot had it aimed up towards the gap where u pull the arm rest down

another good spot is mounting to the underside of the parcel shelf itself...
looks good anyway and takes up no room. (most of the time anyway)

I was gonna do that in my magna (then i didn't put one in at all)
anyway, i was gonna put it under the passenger seat but mine has that slidding tray there. I couldn't take that out. Its my place for my cd's, such a good spot. Only bad thing is if you have some lady company you have to reach real close to her to get them out (sigh) its tuff i tell you. :D

wen mine was under the passenger seat i had it facing the rear of the car so i could just reach and it would come out easy
