Had the exhuast done on my VRX last week and I thought that was good, but with the pod filter as well, car is an absolute ball biter!!
Put a RPW quick shifter in too, pretty cool...
Interesting info for anyone who cares, Sold my TH Sports and flew up to Adelaide to pick up the new VRX, Pretty dissapointed in the new cars performance, the TH had a lot more get-up and go.
Put a tank of BP Ultimate in and drove it to Horsham, still not very exciting, ran 2 tanks of Optimaxx through and it's like a different car! Absolutely incredible the way the Opti made it run, now leaves the old TH in a cloud of tyre smoke! Better get down to Calder soon and check my 1/4 Mile time.
Cheers

you gotta be kidding me before you put the optimax fuel in the VRX the TH was faster than your VRX unless there was a fuel clot

I am also interested to hear how u think the shift kit goes...

What you talking about?
Opti makes a hug difference, Sports took off heaps faster than a VRX on normal ULP.

I'm with Kurt on that one. PULP isn't any more or less powerful than ULP. Depending on PULP, the only differences you usually see are smoother idle, better emissions and better economy. The PULP may well have cleaned the injectors a fraction and it happens to be noticeable.

Not going to argue with anyone, obviously all experts. I'll stick to what I know and you can do what ever you want...

would you like a tissue with that?
the facts are that yes optimax makes a difference, but not nearly as bigger one as your making out. I would suggest that the reason you felt such a huge difference was because of other reasons, such as you had really dirty injectors and the optimax helped clean it out (thats one thing it does do well!) or maybe you had a bad batch of fuel before you put the optimax in so it took a few tanks to clean it out. Perhaps it just hadnt been driven much before you bought it and the engine was a little bit "tight" before

I agree, it's a technical fact 3rd gens do not create anymore power on PULP than they do on ULP unless somthing isnt perfoming to it's factory specifications, like injectors with carbon build up :)

So I take it most of you run on standard ULP then...
Doesn't bother me, willing to spend the extra $$ for decent fuel.

I'm not saying I'm an expert, no one here is, however PULP isn't about having a fuel that's more powerful, it's about offsetting the point at which an engine pings. Higher RON fuel is actually harder to ignite.

Nope, PULP and if you think we have decent fuel here, you have another thing coming.
I'm not saying don't use it as it's a waste of time, it's just that unless you've got an engine that compresses lots of air, is a high compression engine which needs it, a piggyback or replacement EMS that's tuned to it or an engine that uses a knock sensor or two to advance / retard timing then you won't see any difference othat than what I mentioned earlier.
If you felt a difference then great but PULP isn't be default better. This tank of PULP in my car feels nice and smooth but the previous tank felt rough. It mainly depends on the car at the time and the mood it's in.

Your car has moods????? :D
What I have heard from several ppl outside AMC is that some fuel stations and batches of fuel vary. PULP can be very different even when bought from the same gas-station (over several weeks) - we obviously seriously lack standards and Gov monitoring on fuels in this lovely Ozland!. How come this doesn't surprise me. Should I call Ray (Martin)?
I use Shell.
