Hey Guys,

After planning on doing it for a little bit I final did it this morning!

Anyways, quick question. I took the elbow that connects the air filter box to the throttle body out and removed the inlet resi that Gazza pointed out for me as I wasn't exactly sure what to remove and plugged it up with a powerade cap. This is where my question comes in, I thought there was 2 inlet resis that I had to remove. I got the one on top of the elbow off and originally thought the 2nd one was on the opposite side of the elbox but when I took the elbow out of the car found it was just part of the mold that it wasn't anything.

So is there a 2nd resi and if so where is it?

Just removing the one has made a nice difference, I'm happy with the note :) There is definatly no power gain, not that I expect one but people have mentioned it as a power gain mod. This is simply just an asthetic mod in my opinion which makes the intake sound sweeter.

So guys, if you want a cheap, simple easy to DIY mod I highly recommend it. All I did was remove the elbow by unscrewing the to metal hose clamps at each end of the elbow, unsrew the clamp holding the resi in and then plug it up with a powerade cap and but it back together. All done in approx 15 minutes.

P.S. I have searched for the answer and found MANY threads on the topic of removing the inlet resinators but not pics or descriptions of exactly locations.

there is another one under the snorkel, the big long piece connected to the top of your radiator and air box. If u tell me how you remove this, it would be great!

do u have pics?! it would be nice for a non-mechanically minded no0by like me to have pics to look at before i go and kil my car.

This one u removed is the sorta, tall standing one up the top that gets in the way of strut braces isn't it?

3l have 3 resonators one on top and bottom of elbow before mas sensor and one on the bottom of the snorkel. 3.5 l only has one on top of elbow.

Didn't paint it, just used a powerade cap as it is already black :D

That is exactly what I found, no power gain or louder just the intake was more thoaty and I can't wait until I have my CAI either :D

Cool, now that is sorted out I can stop looking :D I actually took the elbow out when I took the resi out to look at the bottom and the part where eek took photos is just part of the mould.

meh took them! lol wasn't me...but i'll happily take credit for the photos...see fellas i have some fully sick tubes running into my intake :shifty:

yeah, so i looked at the bottom res at the elbow, and in one corner it seems to be attached to the air box where the filter goes. Any idea on how to dismantle it? doesn't looks like a bolt or anything...

i blocked off the top one today...i couldn't fit the lid in upright because i'm too weak, so i had to shove it on up side down...
