Whats the easiest way to set up your neons? I have 2 seperate neons but dont want to run a direct seperate circuit to the battery.. Could i just use the cigirette lighter circuit and just not use the lighter? but i would still want it to use a switch in case of nosey officers oh and i want it to kill with the ignition not have to turn it off seperately. should be fairly basic.. just wondering the easiest way?!
..i spose i could create my own seperate circuit to the battery and just use the stock in built fuses in the neon wires?! yes / no / maybe / helpppp!

you mean using the positive and negative from behind the lighter?!
i heard that, that fuse is also used for the stereo.. which might not be so good. hmm. is there an auxilary circuit of some sort i can rig into in the tr/ts?

i have 2 blue neons in the front footwells.

i pulled the dash out and used a multimeter to test which wires were which running to the cig lighter. then i just spliced in wires and ran them to a missile switch i mounted in a sneeky little spot.

i figured this way they were only on when the accessories was turned on, bnut i could still turn them off.

Its a very easy job if u have any knowledge on the subject at all. and even if u dont its not that hard.

Yeah I got a similar thing done when I got my CD player installed. He ran a some wires from the back of the cigarette lighterunder the center console and to a missle switch under the arm rest i.e open the armrest and flick the switch and atch the car light up like a christmas tree :lol:

OK - my neons run off of 3 switches hidden in the centre console compartment.

I use the power and the earth on the cigarette lighter. The switchers control the following:

1 x switch = two under feet neons in cab
1 x switch = undercar neons (currently off car)
1 x switch = two LED windscreen washer jets

Make sure you use fuses for all additional electrical work.

If you need help as to how to wire up the switches and slave the power out of the cigi lighter wiring - let me know ad I will explain in more detail.

yah i might take you up on that offer manual when the time comes (next few days)
ive just come back inside and im waiting for the primer to dry.
i pulled out the dash last nite but couldnt get it out completely because of the sterring wheel, so i put it back in.. now my indicators wont work!!!!!!
i also use the steering tilt quite a bit (up and down) to try and somehow get the dash out but that didnt work. would they of stopped working because of the dash or maybe i pinched a wire of some sort moving the steering up and down?!
any ideas?! i cant bloody drive anywhere untill its fixed!!

Plug the hazard light switch back in - if this is uplugged then the indicators wont work.

and tonight i will write up how to do the switches - or if you are on IRC or MSN - we can chat and i can walk you through it - fairly easy!!

hahah i just realised that when i got in the car then i was like maybe its coz the hazards arent in not a complete circuit or something.
yup yup ill be on both tonite.. should i shoot down to supercheap and grab some switches of some sort? your talking for neons arent you? i might have some missile switches laying around the house somewhere anyways..

u shouldn't need to take the dash out.......
in my TR you can take out the sides of the dash that run up along the indsides of the seats.....piss easy job....
connected and hid all my neon wires and etc...
both sides come out, for easy access...easier that taking the whole compartment out....
mu switches are to the right of the cig lighter and i had two spare spots so i put in my two switches,,,,one for LEDs washers and one for the 3 neons(2 above foot pedals, one each side) one in rear boot,,,lights up my whole wagon!!!!
