Hi Guys
My Traction Control OFF light is flashing on and off every second or so. Not the green one that flashes when your traction control engages as you're loosing traction, but the orange one which usually lights up when you turn the TCL off. If I turn the TCL off then the orange TCL OFF light just stays on as it should.
I have the car booked into a mitsi dealer on wednesday to check it out, but was just wondering if someone has had a similar prob or any idea?
I assume by it flashing it means its not working or theres a prob, but yeah the mitsi dealer said they had to hook upto the cars ECU and check out the error codes to know what the prob was..

Does anyone know how to access the car's ECU? or is it all special to mitsi so you can't just plug in a serial cable and hyperterminal into it?

the same thing happened to me after i got my gearbox replaced - it means that there is an error code - in my case it was the air induction tube disconnecting the traction control computer under heavy acceleration (according to mitsu anyway) the put my pipe back on wrong or somehting.

i know it didnt help but just thought id share my experience :)

Had this happen to mine the other day. (bout a week ago)

Reason it happened on mine was I had my brake on and was hammering the throttle to see if i could get wheel spin. (was testing launch control)

The TCL didnt know what to do....

As a result it started flashing.. I turned it back "on" and it flashed, so i dumped it in the car got a bit of wheel spin and shortly there after it corrected itself.

Happened to me at skid pan. I forgot to take TCL off and then it started flashing after a while.

It fixed itself.

If it's flashing that means theres a prob with you TCL.

I had my air conditioning light flashing once. Any ideas what that means?

Hi Guys, thanks for replies. The car didn't flash the TCL off light the next time I drove it, but thought I'd get it checked out.

I took my TH sports into a mitsi dealer today, they said the ecu had registered an error code which is what would have triggered the flashing TCL OFF light prob. The error code was related to the throttle position switch, so they said they reset it, and if happens again its probably a faulty throttle position switch.
