Plugged up both my resonators today which seems to be the current go fast bit to do and with the K&N pod makes considerable more burble and sooner then before.
Also i made myself a bracket that holds up the pod now cause before it just sat where it had fallen making it look really cheap showing all my mates and just holding it up.
The bracket is made of 3 pieces ot stainless steel bent by myself to get it to grab the bottom of the pod bracket, and then joined in the middle by a screw that holds it to the bottom piece keeping it in the air.
So here are some pics of my work which cost my an entire $0 bucks and 0 cents.
Gotta love the cheap mods.

haha, i have no idea wtf is going on with the metal things...but it looks like u've spent a lot of time....so yeah, FULLY SICK BRO!!!!! :D
as for plugging up resis....well, i like the milk cap ;) I'm going to use an orange gatorade cap, and i'm going to do it tomorrow morning instead of right now, because i don't feel like burning myself on somethign hot in the engine. did u plug up the bottom one as well? i think its bolted on to something else rather than just that little gasket thing.
anyways, awesome...i want ur pod lol

hahaha eek
Well lets say i spent a very short time making that bracket basically half a day if not less.
And if u got a pod then there is nothing holding anything in after that.
But as i know u eek u havent got POD so the bottom resi does plug into the air intake and to take it out all u need to do is loosen the clamp pull the resi towards the fire wall and down, and hopefully it should come out. and yes i have plugged up the bottom one too

hahahah i'm t3h uB3r 133T Pr0 unoo...
yeah, i decided to rip the bottom one at the elbow join out this morning whilst frying my pancakes (gosh they were soo good)

aarrrghhh....i like my stock paper filter, it rocks
As im only new to the whole thing of doing mods to cars, had a crap 83 corona as first car, just wonderin what the resis actually do??

No one can say for sure but since i have removed mine the intake noise has risen which is good.
And i felt better throttle response then previously, but from what i have read they are there to quieten down the intake.
Tho there is another theory that u should have 3L of air before the TB same as what the engine has so that it can suck all that air in when u hit the throttle though i dont know how true that it.

My completely stock Ralliart has the top resi there but the bottom one is gone and has a proper plug in it...
This is how it came from Mitsu so there must be a reason why they went to the trouble of removin it
took both resis off today and plugged them up, sounds hell beefy now, kinda WRXish, will sound alot better when get CAI running.
I think ive picked up better throttle response also and a lil bit of power bottom end of the revs, seems to get up and go better
good to see lots of ppl plugging their resinators up now
while im here i'll post my plugged up resi :D
**there it is**

Ahh what are those two lines you have running in there Meh?

ones an extra fuel injector the other a fuel additive

hehe, yeah, i took a friend home from uni today, and he thought it sounded pretty beefy. Thought I had some sort of super quiet aftermarket exhaust lol lol...but yeah, it sounds heaps nice now...
is it just me or is fuel economy going down? could be be because its a bad idea to remove them? or could it just be me driving harder coz it sounds cooler now? lol

I would say the second one. Makes you push it that little bit further becasue it sounds so good.

As for the resonators, as I have said on here numerous times. I dynoed before and after the only change was .5Hp at the most. There was a gain of 5ft/lbs of torque in the lower rpms though, around 4k rpm.

But - but - ... this totally contradicts the scientific seat of pants claims of massive power gains when blocking resonators.

Is the gain with or without them?

i think he is claiming a gain when they are removed, but id say the difference wouldnt be noticable as they shouldnt change the power at all

Actually i did this 2day on my TJII wich only has one resonator, so i blocked that and it did feel different, definatly had a different note to it. I reckon its worth doing, ofcourse u cant expect huge gains from just one little mod like this, but the car does feel better.
I think ive gotten better fuel economy also by pluging resis up. Got 550kms out of this tank, and i wasnt taking it all that easy, normaly average about 500
Guess ill find out after a few tanks of fuel
