There is a lot of factors that need to be taken into consideration, like what type of enclosure you have, i.e. sealed, bandpass, ported, freeair etc. How big the enclosure is, where the enclosure is. I recommend you check out car audio australia (http://www.caraudioaustralia.com)

OK rule of thumb...

Say you have 1 X 12" capable of 124 db.(1)

You add another identical subwoofer, you gain 6db- 130 db (2)

You add another one, you gain 3db - 133db (3)

You add another one, you gain 1.5db - 134db...

And so on... The reality isn't that much different.

Where does it tell you that the sub can make 89db??

The db produced will depend on the box, car, amp, etc...

i think he means the 89db is the signal to noise ratio...
1 watt 1 metre = 89db

1 12" sub 125db that is very poor...=[

1 pioneer bullet sealed box...... with 400wrms untuned 139.9

125db u sure thats not with an 8inch?

double the power to get 6db? something like that hey?

port the box can gain up to 3-6db over a narrower freq band...

6th order bandpass box gain up to 12db over a sealed box but on a very narrow freq band
