View Full Version : TL Horn not working
My horn stopped working this morning. Was leaning on it at someone cutting me off and it just stopped and wouldn't work again.
I'm not really fussed cause it'll be fixed under warranty :D ....
...but has anyone else had this issue with the TL horn (or any other 3rd Gen model?)
I'm just curious to know what caused it.
check yur fuse
wen i left mine on for too long, was an airhorn though fuse blew, replaced it and never had a problem since
Good thinking! - but unfortunately the fuse is ok.
I'm assuming the contact point in the steering wheel is broken or not contacting for whatever reason.
try getting a test light and put it on your horn then get some one to press it
if there is power getting to it then its yur horn itself other wise would be a fault some where which is wat u dont want
which is wat u dont want
Nope - it's what Mitsubishi doesn't want!!!!
Where are the contact points in the wheel though? I don't know where to put the test light.
go around with a multimeter or test light to track down the problem..could be a fuse for all u know
he already checked fuses eek
just put the multimeter on the horn itself
No power to horn itself.
Looks like the contact in the steering wheel ?
dammm not good,
take it back get em to fix
dont worry i aint got no horn either, some one stole mine haha

Seems to be a common problem with the TL range. I think its because water can get in them. May have repossitioned the horn coz of the ugly TL facelift and they put in the wrong sopt or somthing. Take it to your dealer for warranty.
Umm - nothing to do with water. What makes you say it's common?
The horn is not getting power so it's something electrical further down the line (like the contact on the steering wheel).

I don't know why they keep failing but I do know Mistsi have replaced quiet a few.

Where did you get this information from (about mitsi replacing a few of them).
I need to know because if it a common problem, i have more backup for a warrranty claim.

recommend adding a single-tone air horn, so the other car can hear you!
My TH's horn was so pathetic, I was too embarrassed to use it at times :gtfo: .
