Does anyone know if you can place an external fuel pump directly inline with the stock internal pump without adding a surge tank.

For example:
tank - Stock internal pump - hose - High HP External Pump - Fuel Filter - Hose - Engine etc

Is this possible & will it be a benifit.
I did have an internal Walbro unit but it didn't fit right, I can get the one which does but it costs $$$.

I want an external pump but setting up with a surge tank can be a little costly as well.

If anyone knows please shed some light.

how come yur walbro didnt fit right ?
i had to customise my holder so that it would fit caz the walbro pump was a tad too long
