can anyoen tell me the engine oil capacity of the astron 2's?
my owners manual is at home and i'm at the inlaw's house...

TR/TS 4 cyl engine holds 5.5L (approx) of oil

found my owners manual last night when i got home.. said 4.8l (inc sump)
so i think i mighta overfilled it by about 200ml but that little bit too much surly can't hurt? i would hope it would be better than 200ml not enough!!

It's wierd how the dipstick will say less than minumum, i put only about a litre in and it goes over maximum :nuts: . So does this mean theres 3-4 litres still in there?

between Empty and Full on your dipstick is approx. 1 litre. This is done so u dont run it dry....And if u fill it over maximum i wouldnt be driving it.....

complete oil change including new oil filter is about 5.3litres (Penrite HPR30 now comes in 6litres for the price of 5 :) )

well when i say over max i mean by a couple of millimetres.
So if you go under minimum, this doesn't really do alot? unless it's way way under.

lol.....what does MINIMUM mean?

ideally u want your oil somewhere between the 2 lines on the dipstick.....between Full and Empty..............its not brain surgery.

Being under minimum u may not be gettin enuf oil into parts that need it.....leading to premature wearing/seizing.
