Howdy guys,

Just wanted to know what tyres you guys are using on your rims. The place im getting my rims isn't giving me a great deal of choice in the type of tyre i want but it looks like i might be getting Dunlop RV's.

What type of tyres is everyone using? Are you happy with them?

Im looking for something with an agressive tread pattern that will hold up well.

Also are there any advantages of have 235's over 225's. Apparently the 235's are cheaper than 225's as there isn't such a demand for them.

would be great to hear everyons opinions.

Dunno about the size/price thing...but I have Michelin Certis 205/65's on mine....they're great. Not as good as pirelli's but still really good..and for 119 bucks a tyre I was happy!!

Well I’m due for tyres for my KF Verada in a month & currently have Bridgestone Turenzas. I Went to the Melbourne Motor show & saw the new Verada GTV & Magna AWD with the latest Bridgestone Potenza Grid 3. Some of the sporty cars had them too such as the Subaru Liberty & WRX’s. Mitsubishi bloke at the stand said they are a top tyre & the Magna handles extremely well with them.
But when I went out shopping to get prices some of the tyre places said they would be too noisy for my Verada. Has anyone driven on these new tyres or the old Bridgestone Potenza Grid 2. If so what are they like & are they too noisy. Or should I get them.

I think im going to get the dunlops with my rims and cain into them. When they are due to be replace i'll get a nice tyre, most probobly Pirelli's again. They are brilliant.

I've got Grid 3's on my VRX now :) they are a lot better than the grid 2's in grip.

I like them, they last a long time and still have good grip esp in the wet.

I have Grid 2's on my turbo lancer. When I change tyres I'll get grid 3's on it too.

the grid is cool and trye response is very good in wet and dry , dont have a chance to try in snow so not sure. but its a good tyre:)

http://www.wycliffe.com.au/private/bens_magna/gallery/installed_stuff/fm901_large.jpg This is what the FM901's look like, pretty aggressive and are very road hungry! They stick better than glue..

and to prove it... there was this one corner wherd it was a pretty wild hard left turn, when i had the stock tyres, the back end use to swing out fairly bad, but since ive got theses baby's on, the back stays in tak.

Well Guys after shopping around for tyres again this weekend I finally went for the Bridgestone Potenza’s Grid 3. Remember these tyres are fitted to a standard 16-inch KF Verada rim & all I wanted was something a little bit better than your standard Turenza’s. They handle really well with plenty of grip. They look good too, where the tread pattern has those big blocks. Wife reckons they look chunky though. I’m happy with them. Regarding the noise, they don’t howl as they improved the Grid 3 by 70% over the Grid 2 in noise suppression. But the thing that surprised me was the price, I payed $130.00 each fitted, & balance. They were quoting in March $166.00. Reason Bridgestone had to decrease there prices is because of the old Grid 2 being a great handling tyre but a noisy tyre & people who were updating from Grid 2’s complained about the noise & weren’t prepared to buy the new improved Grid 3. Any way I’m happy.

I ended up getting Forenza's. I haven't heard of them before and a quick search on the net revealed good results. They handling very very nicely. The 17" rims are a massive improvement bother visualy and handling wise over the heavy stock 15" rims.

When they ware out i'll be replacing them with Pirelli's again, they were just such a brilliant tyre.
