its that time of the year, fix it time lol, new problems for me now its getting cold again ive discovered my heater fan isnt working on 1 or 2 setting 3 & 4 are fine any ideas?
car go's into the shop to have sigma rocker gear fitted soon as im sure i have a crook lifter ticks like a bastard untill its warmed up car is also down on power when its ticking seems to be only one cylender, found a sigma astron 2 motor and auto transmission i can get for $20 blown head gasket but its complete so ill tax the rocker gear and get rid of the rest for $1 on ebay unless someone here is interested pickup is from moe vic.
latest mods: new silicon wiper blades :) old ones were shagged and new cai in also just not finished off yet i used the same idea off the 2nd gen thread
laugh of the week: friday night going home from work pull up at the lights next to an red xd/f ute? all look the same to me, he spots magna starts doing the rev motor and little hop forward thing & i laugh to myself "lession time", lights go green he gets the jump on me a little, i pull 2nd gear & hold it to the floor, tacho hits 5500rmp i pull 4th at 80kph, look in the merrior & i have 4 car lengths on him with in the 1st 200m, i back off to 60 then 55 wouldnt pass me :) gotta love the torque of the astron 2, for the record was in an 80kph zone and i didnt spin the wheels he he

This one is easy. There is a little resistor that from memory acts as a heating coil in the fan box under the glovebox. Pull this out and replace it. All 3 Magna's I have owned have blown them at some stage. This should fix this one.

An EFI Astron will always beat a stock 4.1L Falcon. They are a terribly inefficient engine!

a silvia with 18s wanted a go today, in a little acceleration bout, i lost, but it was funny all the same :bowrofl: he then proceeded to floor it off into the traffic, how impressive, a silvia beat a magna over 1second of acceleration :bowrofl:
i pull 2nd gear & hold it to the floor, tacho hits 5500rmp i pull 4th at 80kph,
Just wondering when ur car tops out in each gear? eg 1st-50ks, 2nd 80 etc etc

1st- 45-50
2nd- 80
3rd- 130
4th- 145
5th ??? I dont use it!
I tend to lose alot of speed when I get higher in gears. But its good fun in 1st and 2nd.

i dont really wind it out in 1st but 80 in 2nd motor seems limited at 5.5k rpm 130 ish in 3rd about 145 in 4th havent taken it past 165 in 5th, my exhaust mods have made the motor rev freely > 3000rpm, even in the wet floor it in 2nd with wheels spinning stops at 5.5k rmp wonder if theres any tricks to bypass it with out going ems

my cam helped that. u mean it dosent wanna go past 5500 as in its just revving its guts and not going anywhere anymore? yeah, that will be cam related. $275-$300 for a mild cam. im still not 100% sure on if it will work in an EFI car or not. i would assume so. i wish someone with an EFI car would just go the guinea pig and try it out. i was the guinea pig for alot of stuff on this site ages ago wen i had the weber carb/cam and head skim done.

seems like it just wont rev past 5500rpm the motor will go to it no problem i think the ecu is stopping it?
notorius: let me know :) im interested to see if the stock ecu can adjust the injector pulse enough

k, yet one note, im goin to the end of the hot cams stage, so it might be able to adapt to a mild even if it wont adapt to mine, will let u know either way

Sigma adjustable rocker gear is in :) we gaped the lifters to sigma spec unless anyone has a better idea, going to run it for a week and then it the slight lifter noise is still there it will go back and have the exhaust valve gaps reduced to 8 thou. weird part its its smoothed out my idle? as it used to hunt + - 150rpm

yeah and how long did it take between 5500 and 6000? lol or even 5000-6000
i had my car to 90 in 2nd heaps too, but it took around 10 mins to get it there from 80.
